Manna was the food that came down from God to feed the children of Israel daily in the wilderness for the forty years of their journey to Canaan.  What Is Manna? Bible Descriptions.   William Tyndale was born around 1494 in Melksham Court, Stinchcombe, a village near Dursley, Gloucestershire, England. In 1506, William was enrolled at Magdalen College School at the Oxford University and completed his B.A. in 1512 and his Master of Arts degree in 1515. This allowed him to start studying theology, but not Scripture. He proved to be a gifted linguist. He became fluent in eight languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Greek, Hebrew, and Latin. Between 1517 and 1521, he went to the University of Cambridge and served as a professor of Greek. While at Cambridge, he became further convinced that the Bible alone should determine the practices and doctrines of the church and that every follower should be able to read the Bible in his own language. I was amazed to find that jewelry is a good thing—a beautiful blessing given by God. The holy, saintly women of the Bible enjoyed it. Christian women can enjoy it today. He was trying to run from the Lord’s command to go and preach at Ninevah, the capital city of Israel’s arch-enemy, Assyria. About 30 miles north of Joppa and some 65 miles northwest of Jerusalem, was the Roman provincial capital, Caesarea, where the governor lived. Under his authority were some 3,000 troops, including the Italian cohort. Serving with this unit was Cornelius, a centurion who commanded 100 soldiers. Over 100 years earlier, Nebuchadnezzar (the king of Babylon) had attacked Jerusalem. He overcame the  Jews and he took many  Jews to Babylon. Almost 70 years after that, the king of Persia defeated the armies of Babylon in battle. Then the people in Persia allowed the  Jews to return to their own country, but not many  Jews did return. When the story of Esther happened, most Jews were still living in the country called Persia. Persian Queen Esther was a Jew from the tribe of Benjamin who grew up as an exile in Persia (492 B.C. – 460 B.C.) Esther was her Persian name. Her Jewish name was Hadassah. (meaning a Myrtle, is a branch that signifies peace and thanksgiving.) The myrtle tree was native to Babylonia, but Jewish exiles who returned to Jerusalem took the tree with them, and it became a symbol of the nation of Israel. The name Esther itself means star and happiness. Esther was the daughter of Abihail, of the tribe of Benjamin.     ...

In the Bible you will find a book called Ruth. It is a story about a family that lived during the time when Israel had judges. Ruth is a young woman from the land of Moʹab; she does not belong to God’s nation of Israel. But when Ruth learns about the true God, she comes to love him very much. Naʹo·mi is an older woman who helped Ruth to learn about LORD God. There was a great famine in Israel during the time when judges ruled. Many people relocated to foreign lands to find food for their families. A man from Bethlehem named Elimelech took his wife Naomi and his two sons Mahlon and Kilion went to Moab to find food and ended up staying there to live. Elimelech died and Naomi continued to live with her two sons who married Moabite women named Orpah and Ruth. Both sons also passed away leaving Naomi with her two foreign daughter-in-laws. My times are in thy hand - That is, I said this in my trouble; when my friends forsook me, and when my enemies came around me and threatened my life. The meaning is, that all that pertained to him was under the control and at the disposal of God. He would "live" as long as God should please. Thy burden, or what thy God lays upon thee, lay thou it upon the Lord. His wisdom casts it on thee, it is thy wisdom to cast it on him. He cast thy lot for thee, cast thy lot on him. He gives thee thy portion of suffering, accept it with cheerful resignation, and then take it back to him by thine assured confidence. He shall sustain thee. Thy bread shall be given thee, thy waters shall be sure. Abundant nourishment shall fit thee to bear all thy labours and trials. As thy days so shall thy strength be. He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. He may move like the boughs of a tree in the tempest, but he shall never be moved like a tree torn up by the roots. He stands firm who stands in God. Genesis 18:14 KJV  Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.  Jeremiah 32:17 KJV  Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:  In Genesis the question is asked is there any thing to hard or the Lord? Jeremiah give us the answer in Jeremiah 32:17 - that there nothing to hard for thee!  Many times our faith can be tested to believe God even if the mountain is in front of us.  However, God will give us the victory according to His Word and Will.  His Word is His Will and His Will is His Word.  

Walking with God is the best way to know the mind of God; friends who walk together impart their secrets one to another: "The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him ." Noah walked with God, and the Lord revealed a great secret to him, of destroying the old world, and having him in the ark. Abraham walked with God, and God made him one of his privy council: "Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do?"  Genesis 24:40 18:17. God doth sometimes sweetly unbosom himself to the soul in prayer, and in the holy supper, as Christ made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread. Luke 24:35  . Thomas Watson.

“But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.” Love is the eighth, final and ultimate grace of the Christian life. “But above all these things” God’s first priority for us is to put on love. Besides the other virtues, put on love which is the last and best virtue. “Love” is the garment that is to be “above all.” This means over all. This is the most important characteristic quality for the Christian. Let this be the mark of distinction for the believer. This is the final garment the believer is to put on. It binds all other garments together.

Isaiah 43 :19 I will do a new thing - Something that has not hitherto occurred, some unheard of and wonderful event, that shall far surpass all that he had formerly done (see the note at Isaiah 42:9). Now it shall spring forth - (See the note at Isaiah 42:9). It shall spring up as the grass does from the earth; or it shall bud forth like the opening leaves and flowers - a beautiful figure, denoting the manner in which the events of Divine Providence come to pass. I will even make a way in the wilderness - In this part of the verse, the prophet describes the anxious care which God would show in protecting his people, and providing for them in conducting them to their native land. Psalm 136 is a special Psalm, with each one of its 26 verses repeated the phrase, His mercy endures forever. Psalm 118repeated that phrase five times, and through the Hebrew Scriptures the phrase has somewhat of a liturgical sense to it, as if the assembled people of Israel said or sung it in response to the direction of the Levites leading singing and worship. Ezra 3:11 indicates that this phrase was part of a responsive singing among God’s people:And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord: “For He is good, For His mercy endures forever toward Israel.” The phrase is used several other times in the Old Testament, each time in the context of some kind of public praise or declaration. Psalm 110:2. The Lord shall send — Or, send forth, the rod of thy strength — Thy strong or powerful rod: that is, thy sceptre or kingly power, Isaiah 10:24; Jeremiah 48:17. But then, as the kingdom of Christ is not carnal, or of this world, John 18:36, but spiritual; so this rod or sceptre is nothing else but his word or gospel, published by himself, or by his apostles and ministers, and accompanied with his Spirit, by which the Messiah set up and established his kingdom: see Isaiah 2:3; Isaiah 11:4; Micah 4:2; 2 Corinthians 10:4; 2 Thessalonians 2:8. Proverbs 17:28 Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise Not only one that is sparing of his words, and is really a man of knowledge and understanding; but even a feel, if he is but silent, and does not betray his folly by his words, will be reckoned a wise man by those that do not know him; and, whatever fool he may be in other respects, yet in this he acts the wise part, that he holds his peace and says nothing; [and] he that shutteth his lips [is esteemed] a man of understanding; and keeps them shut, lest he should say anything rashly and hastily; a man that has so much command of himself as not to speak unadvisedly, through the heat of his own passions, and through the provocations of others, will pass for a man that understands himself, and knows how to behave well before others.

I will make all My goodness pass before you: Moses asked to see the glory of God (Exodus 33:18), and God promised to show Moses Hisgoodness. God's glory lies in Hisgoodness. When Moses saw the glory of God, His first understanding was that God was good. If we don't know that God is good, we don't know much about Him at all. I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you: In the thinking of the ancient Hebrews (and also in other ancient cultures), the name represented a person's character and nature. God promised to reveal His character to Moses, not merely a title.

Proverb 1:5 A wise man wilt hear - I shall not only give such instructions as may be suitable to the youthful and inexperienced, but also to those who have much knowledge and understanding. Will increase learning; and thereby will gain this great benefit, to grow in knowledge and wisdom. This he adds to show that this book is useful and necessary, not only to the simple, but also to the moist wise and knowing persons. learning—not the act, but matter of it. Wise counsels .—Literally, arts of seamanship: i.e., guiding himself and others aright through the “waves of this troublesome world.” The "man of understanding" may gain "wise counsels," literally, the power to "steer" his course rightly on the dangerous seas of life. This "steersmanship," it may be noted, is a word almost unique to Proverbs (compare "counsel" in Proverbs 11:14; Proverbs 12:5; Proverbs 24:6).

Jesus on Friendship The Lord Jesus Christ gave us the definition of a true friend: "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you" (John 15:13-15). Jesus is the pure example of a true friend, for He laid down His life for His "friends." What is more, anyone may become His friend by trusting in Him as his personal savior, being born again and receiving new life in Him. 'Secret intimate friendship' "Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His intimate secret counsels to His servants the prophets."
